How do I find gluten free meals and make reservations?

    Welcome to planDisney, Ginger!

I see that your countdown has dipped below two weeks, which means you’ll be standing right in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. with a bucket of buttery popcorn in hand and Cinderella Castle in your view faster than you can say bibbidi-bobbidi-boo! Can you believe it?

As someone who has to navigate dining at Walt Disney World Resort with food allergies, I’m happy to share the best practices to ensure you have a safe experience on your upcoming trip.

    • Peruse the allergy-friendly sections on the menus for the restaurants you plan on dining at during your trip as soon as possible. Each allergy-friendly item will provide details on which allergens it is free of.
    • During the process of making your dining reservations online, be sure to notate your food allergy. If you have already made your dining reservations, notate your food allergy during the online check-in process for your dining reservations.
    • Always verbalize your food allergy to your server. You can also request to speak to the chef or a special diets-trained Cast Member once you are seated.
    • Quick-Service dining locations will do their best to accommodate less common allergy-friendly requests, such as gluten-free, though it’s not a guarantee. You can request to speak to a special diets-trained Cast Member at Quick-Service locations to see what options you have. The same is true of the Outdoor Kitchens at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival (they should have a binder of ingredients for each item).
    • Check out the Special Dietary Requests webpage, then email the Special Diets team at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com no sooner than 14 days prior to your arrival explaining your needs. They will be able to help you navigate the dining process and answer any questions you have.
Be sure to stop by Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC in Disney Springs if you have time. They serve a wide variety of delectable gluten-free treats that I'm sure you would enjoy! I hope this information helps you breathe a sigh of relief, Ginger, but let us know if you have more questions. We’re all ears and happy to help!

    Happy eating,

    Alyssa
