Hi Denise,
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question; we are glad you are here!
You must be counting down the days until you sail away on a Disney Cruise Line vacation with your family! I know traveling with your grandchildren is exciting for you and them! A Disney cruise is a perfect multigenerational trip since there is
something for everyone to enjoy as a family and individually.
How nice of you to take the kids back to the ship while their parents enjoy some time on
Disney Castaway Cay! Of course, you and the young sailors could grab some soft-serve ice cream when you get back to the ship and take a spin down the water slide while other Guests are still on Castway Cay!
You will be happy to know you can be
designated as a specified adult Guest who may accompany the children on and off the ship. The children's parents can accomplish this during Online Check-In by completing the "Traveling with Minors" section of the check-in process or by completing a Debarkation Authorization for Minors Form, available at the
Guest Services Desk once on board. This will allow you to disembark and embark the ship with the children. Remember to bring your Key to the World Card and photo ID at ports of call.
Disney Castaway Cay is one of my favorite destinations. I recommend heading off the ship early in the day and taking a bike ride or walk around the island. I also recommend renting a float to enjoy some lazy time in the gorgeous turquoise water. You can
book bikes, floats, and snorkel gear before your cruise or rent them on the island if you want to play it by ear. They are available on a first-come first-served basis, but there are usually plenty to go around. Another fun Port Adventure is
Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure. No matter how you plan to spend your day, don't forget to reapply your sunscreen!
I hope this information is helpful, Denise. We want you and your family to have the best time on your vacation, so let us know if you have other questions.
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
