where can we find out what day the Christmas Day Parade is taped?

Hi, Loretta!  There has been no official word on when this year's Christmas parade will be taped at the Magic Kingdom, but if I had to make an educated guess based on year's past, you can look for taping to begin the first weekend in December.  It usually takes two or three days to film the whole parade, so it may go into the early part of the week if my guess is correct.  The schedule can also be affected by inclement weather.

There are usually two schools of thought about the parade taping.  There are people who look forward to being there, hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the celebrity acts the parade has become so well known for, or they are hoping the camera pans past them so they can see themselves enjoying the parade as they watch from home on Christmas morning.

The other side of the coin are the people who avoid the Magic Kingdom as best they can during parade taping.  The park can be a bit crowded, and depending on where taping is taking place, there can be areas that are very difficult to negotiate.

I also find that while there are certainly areas that become congested during parade taping, the rest of the Magic Kingdom usually has lighter crowds and shorter lines.  People are stopping to watch the parade festivities, and I skirt right by and head to the back of the park.

I hope that whatever your preference, the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade taping is cooperating!
