How do I find how to buy magic bands

    Hiya, Debra!

Welcome to planDisney.  When I'm planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation for my family, there's nothing I love more than arranging all the little details that make the trip extra special –– whether it's coordinating outfits, packing all the right gear for my park bag, or scheduling a grocery delivery to have our Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room stocked with all our favorite snacks.  But nothing on my to-do list of details gets me (and my kids!) quite as excited as selecting new MagicBands.  Not only are they a fun and convenient accessory, but once that magical package shows up at my door, I know my Walt Disney World Resort vacation is finally getting close.  I'm excited to hear that you're planning to use MagicBands during your upcoming visit –– I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

If you've booked a reservation at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel for your vacation, I think the easiest way to purchase a new MagicBand is right from the Walt Disney World website.  After signing into your Disney Account, hover over the "My Disney Experience" tab and select "My Magic Bands and Cards" from the drop-down menu.  As you scroll down the page, you should see your Resort reservation, along with a MagicBand order for all the Guests registered in your room.  All you'll need to do is click the blue "Get Started" button and follow the onscreen prompts to select a band for each member of your party.  MagicBands can also be purchased on ShopDisney.com and at various locations around Walt Disney World Resort.  Just be advised that due to ongoing supply-chain issues, the current inventory of MagicBands available online may be very limited.  For that reason, it may be best to keep checking back for a better selection as your vacation date gets closer.

Last year, Disney also announced that some big MagicBand changes were on the horizon with the upcoming release of the next-generation MagicBand+.  In addition to all the current MagicBand features, these new rechargeable bands will also include lights and haptic vibrations, allowing Guests to interact with various elements throughout Walt Disney World theme parks and Resorts in a whole new way.  MagicBand+ will be coming later this year and I can't wait to try out these new wearables for myself.  Since you still have some time before you arrive, you may want to hold off on purchasing a MagicBand until MagicBand+ has been released.  For all the details about when that will be happening –– along with other exciting Walt Disney World news –– be sure to keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates.

Thanks for visiting planDisney, Debra.  If you think of new questions as you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort, I hope you'll stop by again –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
