Laura from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

How do I filter dining reservations by location? If I’m going to be at Epcot, I don’t want to see options at other parks. Also, how do I search availability for a specific restaurant? With an AP, I could plan a visit around a hard to get restaurant.

    Laura,

Thanks for asking your questions to planDisney!

You are correct in noticing that the navigation on the Walt Disney World website for dining has changed, and at first it can be a bit confusing. But I think I have the answers you are looking for!

    Filtering Restaurants by Location

    • When you are on the main page of the website, simply hover over "Things to Do", and click on "All Dining" from the menu that pops up. This brings up a listing of almost 400 dining options around Walt Disney World!
    • To narrow your choices down quickly to just what is in EPCOT, you can click on the drop-down menu in the upper right that says "All Walt Disney World Locations", and click on EPCOT. This will edit out everything but what is in EPCOT.
    • From there you could look at all the options (62 at today's count, but that can change over time), or you can narrow down the list further. For instance, when my family is planning our trip, we click on the "Reservations Accepted" button at the top of the page. That removes the counter service options that we may visit on our trip but are not part of our advanced planning when we pick our one sit-down meal per day.
    • By the way, in this window it can help to put in the date, time, and party size to further reduce the number of available options.

Searching for Availability for a Specific Restaurant

    • You also asked about how to search for a particular restaurant's availability. The easy way to do that is as follows. From the list of restaurants, click through to the restaurant's page.
    • You will see to the right of the page a calendar button that you can adjust to your date in question, and then a "Check Availability" button.
    • The pop-up window that comes next will let you adjust date, time, and party size and then after hitting "Search Times", you will see anything available within a 3-hour window. You can either select any of the available times listed or adjust your information to search further.
So those are a lot of directions, but hopefully they will answer what you were looking for. Since we cannot change the system back to the way it used to be, it is now about finding the best ways to navigate how it is currently set up. I can say that the new system has made our family trip planning easier, now that my teenage daughters are more involved. Being able to follow the steps in the first set of instructions gives us a list of the sit-down dinner options, reminding them of past destinations they may have forgotten about, as well as discovering new venues that may become our next "Must Do!" dining experience!

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.

Have a Magical (and delicious) Vacation!
