Is there a way to figure out which restaurants need a deposit for reservations? We are getting the Disney deluxe dinning plan, but heard that some restaurants charge to your credit card till you get there to switch it to the dining plan.

    Hi Bobby Jo!

All of the dining options throughout the Walt Disney World Resort are fantastic, so of course, I completely understand wanting to make your reservations as soon as possible.

The only restaurants that require advanced payment when making a dining reservation are Cinderella's Royal Table, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, and Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show.  Other dining locations will require you to place a credit card on file when you make your reservation, but you will only be charged a per-person cancellation fee if you cancel after the designated cancellation period or if you are a no-show.

If you purchase your Dining Plan in advance, you can call Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DINE, or 407-939-3463, and if there is availability, they will be able to cancel and rebook your reservation using your Dining Plan.  In this case, you will receive a refund on your credit card.  If you aren't able to add your Dining Plan in advance, or there is no availability, you can let your server know once you arrive at the location that you would like to use your Dining Plan instead, and they will be able to refund your purchase and use your dining plan to pay for your meal.

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
