Hi there, Patricia, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you've stopped by with this great question about your upcoming vacation! Since it will be here in just a couple of short weeks, now is the perfect time to make sure you have everything you need for a seamless visit.
Patricia, it sounds like you have a beloved MagicBand that you're hoping to use during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Did you know that there are a few different types of MagicBands? You'll want to determine the type of MagicBand you have. If your MagicBand is actually a
MagicBand+, then it would have come with a charger when you purchased it. If your MagicBand is an older generation, then it does not have charging capabilities. While it might still work during your visit, the battery is only meant to last for about two years. It's definitely worth bringing along to see if it still has battery life when you arrive - you can do this at your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel or at the Disney Theme Parks.
Happily, there are some great options you can consider as a back-up plan. In the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, go to My Tickets & Passes and click "Save to Wallet." This will create a virtual ticket that lives in the wallet of your smartphone and you can use it to tap in for park entry,
Lightning Lane entry, and for
Virtual Queues. This is called
Disney MagicMobile Service, and I use it for my family often. If you'd like a new MagicBand+, you can find them at your Resort's gift shop or at merchandise locations throughout the theme parks and
Disney Springs. Since the new MagicBand+ comes with a charger, you don't have to worry about battery life when you charge it between uses!
Patricia, I hope you have a lovely vacation. Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you continue the countdown to your arrival!
See you real soon!
Jennifer
