My fiance and I are planning to elope at Disney Springs, are we allowed to go to a Character Breakfast at a resort before the ceremony?

Why hello there Angela, I'd like to wish you a very warm Canadian welcome back to planDisney!

As a recent Disney Groom I love talking about weddings at the Most Magical Place on Earth! When we began planning for our Disney Fairy Tale Wedding this year, my husband and I also considered tying the knot at Disney Springs with a short and sweet ceremony on the upper decks of Paddlefish as a more economical approach to having a wedding at Walt Disney World Resort for folks who might not be having too many guests to meet the current Event Minimum Pricing! Whether it's a grand destination wedding or an intimate elopement I'm happy to provide some first-hand knowledge and personalized wedding planning advice for a future Disbride at Walt Disney World Resort:

You'll be pleased to hear that you can absolutely take advantage of a Character Dining Experience for breakfast at one of the Disney Resort Hotels before your ceremony! In fact, I was able to confirm with the friendly Cast Members that couples have been able to wear their wedding attire for these meals and currently have continued to do so across all of the Character dining locations. This can provide you the opportunity to take photos with Characters in your wedding best for perhaps a few thousand dollars less than what we spent to have them attend our Reception! (Something to keep in mind is that policies are subject to change without prior notice and it may be up to the management team at a particular restaurant to decide to allow or deny certain guest attire at their discretion on the day, including reasons for safety and courtesy to other guests - but I've also certainly seen my share of gowns and dresses up at Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera!)

As a personal tip, be sure to check out the real stories and experiences featured on the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Ever After Blog or the Disney Wedding Podcast in order to be inspired by other couples who've also planned intimate celebrations of their love. It looks like you're already very much aware of how great it is for couples to take advantage of a Capture Your Moment photo session within the Theme Parks and we made sure that we sent emails and reached out to the Cast Members ahead of our session just to make sure that our planned outfits would be approved and not count toward their current policy that does not permit the wearing of wedding attire. Personally I think that this is definitely one of the occasions where purchasing Memory Maker is very much worth it, especially if you book more than one session for nearly-immediate access to your shots available for you to download.

Come back to planDisney and feel free to ask me directly for any more wedding tips or tricks before it's time for you to become a Walt Disney World Resort bride - and just be wary of breakfast stains, spills or crumbs on the big day!

Here's to your Happily Ever After!
