Hi Angela, welcome to planDisney!
Congrats on finding your Prince Charming! I can't think of a better place to kick off your happily ever after journey than Walt Disney World Resort. My husband and I honeymooned at The Most Magical Place on Earth over 15 years ago. A few experiences that made our visit extra special were a romantic dinner at
Cítricos and watching fireworks on the beach at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. We didn't opt for the bride and groom ears, but proudly wore our "Just Married" buttons. Be sure to pick up your own celebration buttons at
Guest Relations.
It sounds like you've done your research, Angela, and are familiar with the
Park Dress Guideline that states "clothing that touches or drags on the ground" is not permitted. Unfortunately, a helpful Cast Member confirmed that wedding dresses of any length are not permitted in the parks. This is partly for your privacy so Guests don't line up for you to sign their autograph books.
Capture Your Moment sessions are a great way to preserve magical memories in the parks. My multigenerational family had a session in front of Cinderella Castle this fall and had many high-quality options to choose from when crafting our annual holiday card. If your dream is to be a blushing bride in front of Cinderella Castle, I encourage you to book the appointment and reimagine your attire. Perhaps you could wear a white non-wedding dress with a
Minnie veil or Disney bound with your husband-to-be as your favorite Disney couple. Your Disney PhotoPass photographer will also have some great props and ideas for capturing your magical occasion.
If the wish your heart makes is for pictures in your wedding dress at Walt Disney World Resort, I find the area around the Walt Disney World
Swan and
Dolphin hotels to be quite beautiful. An online search for Orlando-area photographers will help you find the right person to capture a hand-in-hand stroll around Crescent Lake or a stolen kiss by the Lighthouse at
Disney's Yacht Club Resort. My family recently watched a young couple getting pictures taken at
Disney's BoardWalk, which inspired my daughter to capture some sunset shots of me and my husband. Picture-perfect moments are easy to capture when you're immersed in love and magic.
If there's anything planDisney can do to bring an extra dose of pixie dust to your special occasion, Angela, please
let us know. I'm wishing you a lifetime of magic moments!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
