Hey Madison! Welcome to planDisney!
Summer in
The Most Magical Place on Earth is always a good choice! While it may be hot, you also get the pleasure of long sunny days, midday rains to cool you down (and empty the Parks!), and usually, longer Park hours, so you can get out early and stay up late. My family and I visited the Walt Disney World Resort in June last year, and though my one recommendation is to definitely bring a rain poncho, we had a wonderful time!
Madison, even if you're not staying on Disney property at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you're certainly welcome, and even encouraged, to purchase and use a
MagicBand throughout your trip. There are many ways to grab your favorite design, such as searching on shopDisney.com or even waiting until you get to the Resort and searching for that perfect MagicBand in person. Many retail locations at Resort hotels,
Disney Springs and the Parks carry a variety of MagicBands that you can purchase and then link to your
My Disney Experience account.
While your MagicBands won't have the ability to open your Guest room door at your Resort if it is not a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, it will still work like your
Theme Park Ticket, allowing you to scan your band at the entrance of all four Theme Parks and two Water Parks. You can also connect your
Disney PhotoPass photos to your band just by letting the PhotoPass photographer scan your MagicBand after your pictures have been taken. With so many Magic Shots available, especially for
Walt Disney World Resort's 50th Anniversary, you'll definitely want to see and save some of these fantastic photos!
While you and your fiance are visiting, I would highly recommend searching for a dining reservation at the new
Space 220 Restaurant. This truly out-of-this-world experience lets you dine among the stars and has interesting options like Blue Moon Cauliflower and Galactic Salmon! It's definitely on my must-do list the next time I visit
EPCOT!
I hope you both have a wonderful time and come back and see us again if you have any other planning questions!
