My fiancé and I got engaged 2 years ago at Disneyland. Now we are planning our wedding and want to take our engagement photos with our photographer. I did some research and it said I needed a permit. How do I go about to obtain one?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Leslie. We're so glad you're here to share this enchanting question with us and I'm delighted to help.

Congratulations on your engagement! How magical to receive your proposal at the Happiest Place on Earth. Taking your engagement photos at the place where the question was popped sounds like a wonderful idea. I chatted with a Cast Member who shared that while there isn't an official or formal process to request permission, it's always a wonderful idea to let Guest Relations know that you will be taking professional photos around the park. These Cast Members will be able to tell you if there are any locations that are exclusively available to Disney PhotoPass photographers.

The Cast Member also shared that your photographer will want to be mindful of the equipment that they bring with them to the theme park. I recommend carefully looking over the list of items that are not permitted in addition to the Disneyland Resort Rules. The Cast Members at security will have the ultimate say in what equipment they will allow into the parks. If your photographer has a smaller professional camera that they'd like to bring with them just in case, that may be a good idea. If you have additional questions, I also recommend chatting directly with a Cast Member. They are super friendly and incredibly helpful.

Be sure to stop into the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. and ask for complimentary "Happily Ever After" buttons for you and your fiancé. They might even make a great prop for some of your photos.

Leslie, I hope this is helpful as you are preparing for your magical visit. Please come back to visit and let us know if there's anything else you might be curious about. Here's wishing you a wonderful visit and a lifetime of happiness.
