    A few years ago, I went to Disney with my mom and she made an account for me in her profile and she managed all the plans. She has my magic band linked to the account she made for me which is under her account. How do I use my magicband without my mom

    Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your MagicBand question! How exciting that you’re stepping into a new chapter of Disney magic and taking control of your plans with the most magical accessory around—the MagicBand! Personally, I love the ease and convenience it brings, whether I’m tapping to pay for a souvenir, unlocking my resort room door, or connecting my favorite Disney PhotoPass moments. It truly makes every adventure a little more seamless—and a lot more magical!

    Let’s help you take ownership of your My Disney Experience account so you can manage all your plans and MagicBand like a pro. Since your mom currently manages your account, she can help you take ownership of your account and transfer your MagicBand to your new account through the My Disney Experience app. Here’s how: 

    1. On your mom’s My Disney Experience app, have her tap the ≡ (hamburger) icon in the bottom-right corner.
    2. Select Profile, then go to Family & Friends List and find your managed account.
    3. Have her tap Send Email and enter the email address linked to your new My Disney Experience account.
    4. Check your email! When you accept the planning invitation, all your plans and any MagicBands linked to your profile will transfer to your new account.
    5. To finalize, log in to your My Disney Experience account and accept the invitation.
    Once everything is set, you’ll be ready to explore, plan, and go the distance—just like Hercules!
