Hi! We are a few weeks away from our first Disney cruise in seven years. We frequently visit Walt Disney World and have magic bands from there. Would our magic bands be useful to us on our cruise, or does DCL still utilize Key to the World cards? Thanks

    Ahoy, Nicole!
It's just about time to enjoy all that Disney has to offer on the high seas, and I'm sure you can't wait! The crew and your favorite Disney Characters are ready to welcome you back onboard very soon! When you arrive at the cruise terminal, you will receive a "Key to the World" card to serve as your cruise identification card, charge card and stateroom key. Disney Cruise Line is not utilizing the MagicBands at this time, but do have a similar band for all the Oceaneer Club and Lab participants. These bands are used for signing in and out of the clubs and tracking down a child's location in the youth spaces. Unlike MagicBands, the Oceaneer Bands cannot be taken on and off because of a small security clasp. On the last night of the cruise, the youth counselors will cut off the clasp, so the band can be returned. In the past, my son has wanted to keep his band, so he can add it to his MagicBand collection. There is a nominal fee to keep it, and it will be charged to your stateroom account.
Best wishes for the most magical time on your Disney Cruise, Nicole! If you think of any other last minute questions, please let us know!
    Bon Voyage!
