    Is festival of the lion king closed in February 2026?

    Welcome to planDisney, Rebecca! 

    Festival of the Lion King is one of my favorite shows at Animal Kingdom! I always feel so joyful and full of life after watching a performance within the Harambe Theater. I am really happy to let you know that Festival of the Lion King should be open in February and operating as usual. There have been no announcements regarding any closures, and I confirmed with a Cast Member that it is planned to be operating as usual in February, 2026. (Show schedules are always subject to change, so check the Disney World website for official updates.) 

    While you may not be able to see the February schedule for Festival of the Lion King (I’m only seeing dates available to view through January at this moment) you should see those dates extend here into February very soon. Keep checking the My Disney Experience Mobile App or the Disney World website for updates.

    While you’re in Animal Kingdom be sure to see the new show within the Tree of Life! Zootopia: Better Zoogether! was such a delightful show — I cannot wait to see it again!
