Hi Jennifer,
Planning a Disney World vacation can be quite overwhelming. There is so much to see and do. Relax, planning a Disney trip can be almost as much fun as the trip. Involve your whole family and let them check out
www.disneyworld.com for ideas. Make a list of a few of everyone's favorites and start with those. We have been over fifty times and still find new things to do so don't worry about trying to squeeze it all in.
Another way to add to the planning fun is to create Disney countdown calendars. We like to add fun projects to ours, like every Friday watch a Disney movie, or make a Disney mask, or even make Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast. This makes the time go faster and everyone gets into the planning spirit.
Now as for character meals with boys, I think I can help you with this. As a mom of three boys, we are always looking for fun dining options that may not include the Princesses, tiaras and glitter. Check Mickey's is a great choice as it is fun and upbeat and features many of the Disney fab five. Another one of my boys favorites is 'Ohana at the Polynesian. Lilo and Stitch as well as Mickey are present and anytime you throw Stitch into the mix, there is sure to be lots of crazy antics that little boys love.
Another favorite is Animal Kingdom's Tusker House. Something about Donald and Goofy in safari outfits with an animal theme just makes my boys get all excited. One other character meal we always have to enjoy is Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom. How can you not love huggable Pooh, Piglet and even Eeyore and Tigger brings a smile to every kids' face.
All advance reservations can be made ninety days in advance and if you are staying at a Disney resort, you will be able to make up to ten days of reservations on the first day you can call. Character meals are very popular so be sure to call 407-939-3463 as soon as your date opens up.
