Has there been any feedback on the new Picnic in the Pack lunch option now offered at AK? It sounds like it would be fun but wondering if anyone that has done it has any comments on it. Thanks so much.

Hi, Julie!  My family and I just did the Picnic in the Park this past week and LOVED it!  We absolutely intend to do it again on another visit.

We opted for the Tier 2 meal of rotisserie chicken, and there were four of us dining that particular day.  The minimum meal size is for three adults, so we purchased that one.  The chicken was melt in your mouth moist, with a wonderful flavor from the seasonings on the skin.  We opted for the macaroni and cheese side dish, along with the seasonal fruit salad.  The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and delicious; and the fruit salad contained watermelon, pineapple, honeydew, and cantaloupe.  For our three desserts, we chose the brownie, the cookie, and an apple.  We were so full from the lunch, we ended up taking the desserts home with us.  The cookie got high marks and the brownie was decadent - thick, dense, and chocolatey - and we ended up cutting it into pieces to share.  You also get bottled water with your picnic, and everything comes packages in a reusable bag.

There are various places throughout the park where you can enjoy your picnic.

I asked another family that was there enjoying their picnic how it was.  They all raved about the sandwiches they purchased with the Tier 1 plan, and said they would absolutely do it again.

For my family, the lunch came to just about $30.  We easily could have fed my one missing teenager with what we had, and for us, that means lunch at the theme park would have cost just about $6 per person!  Anytime I can get my kids away from fried foods and still have it be reasonably priced, I'm a happy mom!
