Ahoy, Farah Mae!
What a DREAMy Bahamian getaway you have planned for February! I'm sure you are counting the days until you are sailing with Mickey on the beautiful
Disney Dream. It won't be long now.
Farah Mae, I cruised to the Bahamas when my Mouseketeers were around the same ages as the ones in your party, so I have a few ideas to share as you plan what Port Adventures to experience. First of all, I always select two or three excursions to give my family a few choices and to have a backup in case our top pick is not available when I go to book. I consider the cost, length of the activity, and activity type when making my selections. When my sailors were younger, time was always my top consideration because they only liked to be off the ship for a few hours. If your kiddos enjoy splashtacular fun, I suggest the
Atlantis Aquaventure or the
Blue Island Beach Day in Nassau. If you think they would like something more hands-on,
Graycliff Chocolatier-The Art of Chocolate Making and Factory Tour is a great (and delicious!) option for all ages!
If this will be your first visit to
Disney Castaway Cay, you may want to book the
Bicycle Rentals so you can explore the island. There's an observation tower you can stop at that provides spectacular views of the ship! Also, we've always enjoyed interacting with the marine life during the
Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure. Both of these activities won't take too long, so you'll have plenty of time to build sandcastles, float around in the water, and eat lunch at Cookies BBQ! When my kids were younger, they always had to visit the club on the island, Scuttle's Cove, and the Monstro's Point Whale Dig was my son's favorite activity to participate in for yEARs! The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and the Personal Navigator (paper newsletter) will have a list of events planned for your day on Disney's private island.
I hope one of these suggestions will work for your crew, Farah Mae! Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We'd love to help again.
