I have a Feb 21-28 cruise scheduled and am wondering about Falmouth. I understand the port had hurricane damage and ships were being rerouted to the private island. Is this still occurring?

Hi there, Gretchen! Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question. I bet you’re dreaming of that warm Caribbean sunshine during these chilly Minnesota days!

I completely understand your concern. Falmouth did experience significant damage from Hurricane Melissa earlier this fall, and for a short time the Disney Treasure sailed a modified Western Caribbean itinerary that replaced Falmouth with other ports. The great news is that Jamaica’s cruise ports have now reopened, and my fellow panelist, JoVonn, confirmed that Disney Cruise Line is returning to Falmouth starting next week. Just keep in mind that itineraries can change at any time, especially when weather or port conditions are involved. If anything does change, Disney Cruise Line will always notify Guests by email.

When you get to Jamaica, you’ll have some wonderful options. Many Guests rave about the Port Adventure to Dunn’s River Falls. It’s truly spectacular to climb the 600-foot waterfall. If relaxing is more your style, Montego Bay offers beautiful beaches and plenty of tranquility. When you’re ready to plan your day ashore, feel free to reach out to planDisney again. We'd love to help you choose something that fits your style of adventure!

    Stay warm, Gretchen!

    Sea ya real soon,
