Would it be feasible to park at Magic Kingdom using preferred parking and then walk over to Chef Mickey’s if we have a reservation there for 9:00am? Would we have to check in at the main gate first?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Omar!  I'll be happy to help you navigate your way around Walt Disney World Resort.

Beginning your day with a hearty family-style breakfast at Chef Mickey's is a great way to dive into the magic!  You are off to a great start, but we'll need to tweak your transportation plan just a bit.  Chef Mickey's is located at Disney's Contemporary Resort, which is adjacent to (and within walking distance of) Magic Kingdom Park.  However, the parking area for Magic Kingdom Park (including preferred parking) is located at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), which is across Seven Seas Lagoon.  There is no walking path around the lagoon from the parking area to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  After you park, you'll want to hop on the Resort Monorail.  Disney's Contemporary Resort will be the 4th stop.  You can use this interactive map to get a better idea of where everything is located.

If you will be staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, another option would be to use bus transportation from your resort to Magic Kingdom Park.  The bus drop-off area is located near the front gate of Magic Kingdom Park, and it would not be a far walk from there to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  You do not need to enter or check in at Magic Kingdom Park to reach Chef Mickey's.  Guests with confirmed dining reservations are welcome to park at the resort while they enjoy their meal.  If you plan to visit a theme park after your breakfast, you will need to move your vehicle.

In accordance with health and safety guidelines, updates and adjustments have been made to some Walt Disney World Resort experiences in order to maintain physical distancing and minimize contact.  Chef Mickey's is currently offering a modified dining experience, with an all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast served family-style.  Servers will bring shareable platters of breakfast favorites directly to your table.  At this time, Mickey and pals will not be part of the dining experience.

Please stop by the Moms Panel again with any additional questions you may have.  We are always happy to help.  Enjoy your visit!
