We were favoring the excursion to the Tulum ruins in Cozumel, until we learned that about 4 hours out of the time would be spent in transit. Is it worth the travel time, versus the excursion in Costa Maya to see the Chacchoben ruins?

    Ahoy Deborah!
Welcome to the Moms Panel!  You have an excellent question, and I'm happy to provide you more information so you can make the best decision for your family! You really can't go wrong with either adventure because both sites are rich in history and have amazing tour guides to keep you entertained and informed during your tours. The Tulum Ruins in Cozumel does have a spectacular ocean backdrop which makes for stunning photos.  Having the beach close by is a nice option if you are interested in taking advantage of a refreshing dip during your excursion.  But, with that being said, the travel time does make this an all-day adventure as opposed to the shorter option, Chacchoben Ruins.  This excursion will be a similar experience in which you will also learn fascinating Mayan history.  The travel time is significantly less which will mean you have time to get back to the ship and rest up before you head out for the evening.  Also, I'm not sure about the ages of your party, but I know my kiddos do better with the shorter Port Adventures!  Many times they are ready to head back to the ship to see what's happening in the kids' clubs!
I hope my answer helps with your decision, Deborah!  Thanks so much for stopping by the panel with your cruise question!  If you think of anything else, please don't hesitate to ask!
    Have a magical day!
