What is the fastest way to get from Hollywood Studios to the Magic Kingdon during the afternoon? And how long might this take?

    Hi Bryan,

I'm always in a hurry to move on to our next park too, especially when that park is Magic Kingdom. You will have a number of options available if you would like to move from Hollywood Studios (DHS) to Magic Kingdom. The often suggested route from Disney transportation will be to take the Disney bus from DHS to the Ticket and Transportation Center(TTC).  Once at the TTC you can choose the monorail to the Magic Kingdom or the ferry boat depending on which one is there and waiting.

Another option is to take the boat from DHS to the Dolphin/Swan boat dock and walk to the front of the resort and grab the Disney bus to the Magic Kingdom. The route that I prefer, and in my opinion, usually the fastest option is to take the Disney bus from DHS to the Contemporary resort. Once at the resort, take the short walkway that leads from the resort to the Magic Kingdom. I would select this option first unless the bus for the TTC is already waiting at the DHS bus stop, then select that option.

Although the bus ride itself is only about fifteen or twenty minutes from DHS to Magic Kingdom, you will need to allow for additional stops and wait times. I always allow 60-75 minutes when transferring from one Disney location to another. Don't forget to watch the times of the afternoon parades at both Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom as it will slow you down to move around the parade crowds.
