How far will the Little Mermaid wing of AoA be from Animation Hall? Also, can I request a room closest to Animation Hall so my mother doesn't have to walk as far for the bus?

    Hi Lora,

I have measured on Google Earth and found that the center of the Little Mermaid area is approximately one quarter mile from the center of Animation Hall which is the home of the food court and bus stop. I know this sounds far, but for most folks this is only a four or five minute walk.

You're certainly welcome to make a room request. For complete details on how to do this, you may want to head over to the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Search there for an article called "The Art of the Disney World Room Request."

If mobility is an issue for your mom, you may also want to consider renting a wheelchair or ECV for her stay at Walt Disney World. In addition to walking at the resort, there is LOTS of walking at the parks. There are rentals at the parks if you want to do this on a daily basis. Or if you'd like to have access to the wheelchair at your resort, there are a number of reputable supply companies that handle rentals. We'd be happy to give you more information about this if you'd like.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you need any additional help.
