How far in advance does a DVC member have to book dining plan (is it week before trip)?

Welcome Home, Patricia--and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you decided to be our guest, and it's my pleasure to help out a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member. Let's tie a napkin 'round our neck, cherie, and dive right into Disney dining plan details!

I was so excited to learn that dining plans were making a triumphant return earlier this year! They are a great way to prepay for your meals during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and enjoy some of the amazing restaurants available at the theme parks, Resort Hotels, and Disney Springs. You can choose between two options, depending on how your family likes to spend their Disney day:
    • The Disney Dining Plan entitles each Guest aged 3 or older to 1 Table-Service Meal, 1 Quick-Service Meal, and 1 snack or nonalcoholic beverage per night of your stay. Our family goes with this plan as we like to have a break during a busy day in the theme parks to relax, enjoy a filling meal, and talk strategy for our next Lighting Lanes!
    • The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan includes 2 Quick-Service Meals and 1 snack/nonalcoholic beverage per night of the stay. This is a great choice for families on the go--you can even mobile order your food in advance at many locations and keep the fun going!
    • Both dining plans include Resort-Refillable Drink Mugs, which can be used for free refills of soda, coffee, and tea at the self-service beverage stations located in Disney Resort Hotels. It's good to know that you can't get refills in the parks, but I usually bring my empty mug and fill it with water during the day to stay hydrated!
Patricia, you can add a dining plan to your DVC reservation anytime up until 48 hours before your check-in date. Once that 2-day deadline passes, you will no longer be able to purchase a dining plan. When you log into the DVC website, select "My DVC" in the top right, then "My Dashboard". Under "My Vacation Plans", select your November reservation. This will open a menu of Trip Options and you should see a place to purchase a dining plan--easy-peasy!

I hope this information is just what you need to make sure you can enjoy all of the dining delights that Walt Disney World has to offer! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, and please reach out again anytime if we can help with any other questions to make your fall getaway practically perfect.

    Stay Magical!
