Hello how far in advance can I book a hotel please? X

    Hi Helen! Welcome to planDisney!

As the resident Disney planner in my family, I’m always eager to know when hotel and reservation dates become available. There’s nothing like a Disney trip on the horizon to add a little extra magic to your day (especially during these long summer afternoons).

At the moment, the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort (Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel) are accepting reservations through December 31 of this year. Reservation dates beyond that haven’t been released just yet. In previous years, rates and availability for the following year have typically opened up around August (perfect timing for a little summer vacation daydreaming) though no official date has been announced, and timelines are always subject to change. I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates on 2026 vacation packages, as well as other exciting park announcements.

If you’re planning a hotel stay, you might also be thinking about theme park tickets. These follow a slightly different timeline. Tickets are usually released up to 180 days in advance, although that, too, can vary. You can check current availability on the Theme Park Tickets page of the Disneyland website. For example, if you’re hoping to visit on June 1, 2026, a great time to start looking into park tickets would be around December 3, 2025.

As you begin crafting your magical itinerary, I’d also recommend considering Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This time-saving option allows you to skip the standby queue and use the Lightning Lane entrance at select attractions, an especially handy perk when you’re soaking up the summer sun in the parks. You can purchase Multi Pass for your whole group ahead of time or on the day of your visit. Once you enter the park, just open the Disneyland app to start booking return times for your must-do experiences. It’s as easy as grabbing a frozen banana on Main Street!

Helen, I hope this helps as you begin planning your Disneyland adventure! If you have any other questions or would like more tips, please don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.

Wishing you a truly magical (and sunshine-filled) trip,
    David
