We will be on the Fantasy 11/9 taking our grandson for his 6th birthday. I am bringing pillow case to drop off for signatures. Do I need to bring the writing instrument?

Welcome back, Mary! Three days left until you set sail on the Disney Fantasy! I can only imagine that you have one very excited grandson right now!

Many guests do bring items to be signed by the characters. I love that guests are able to drop off up to two items per stateroom at Guest Services to be signed. They will then return your item to your stateroom before the end of your cruise. While you don't need to provide markers to sign with, I would highly recommend doing so. If you don't provide them, you might find that all the signatures come back in one color or just black. When we bring pillowcases to be signed for my kids, I bring along a pack of colored fabric markers. I put those along with the pillowcase in a gallon size plastic zippered bag to keep it all together when I drop it off. We also like to include a box of candy as a little thank you to the characters who are taking the time to sign the pillowcase.

If you purchase colored fabric markers (you can usually find them at office supply stores or Target), I do recommend leaving the yellow and light green at home. Those two colors have always washed out on our cases as they are the lightest colors. Of course, no little child wants their favorite character's autograph to wash away! The other colors, like red, blue, dark green, purple, pink and orange have all held up for years of use and many, many runs through our washing machine, Mary.

    Have an amazing cruise!
