Happy New Year, Mitchell!
I know it is early, but it never hurts to get in the festive mood and think about luck, wealth, and health in the year to come! I'm glad you brought this question to planDisney to get us in the spirit!
I can imagine how spectacular
New Year's Eve will be on your vacation, Mitchell! Your host, Captain Mickey and his crew will be dressed to impress in festive attire. After a celebratory dinner menu, the New Year's Eve Fireworks at Sea will be spellbinding, I'm sure! (Fireworks schedules are subject to change.)
Like you, my family has a strong tradition of enjoying pork, greens, and black-eyed peas on New Year's Day. Things just wouldn't be the same without it. I did some investigating for you and did not receive a confirmation that this traditional southern menu would be available. Your cruise is scheduled to visit Philipsburg, St. Maarten that day, so you might find some options while in port. My grandmother always said you could substitute other items in a pinch, so maybe you will find great alternatives and start a new tradition!
There is so much great food to enjoy on a Disney Cruise Line voyage, I hope you come hungry! And dinner is not simply about the food. On
Disney Fantasy, one of my favorite moments is when
Enchanted Garden, one of the
Rotational Dining restaurants, transforms from day to night right before your eyes. Here's a tip: keep an eye on the wall sconces and other light fixtures for some Disney dazzle.
So many of your nights will be filled with magic, I can hardly wait for you to experience it! Until then, we are here to answer your planning questions, so sail by any time.
Wishing you all the best in the year ahead!
Shannon
