Do Fantasmic and Wonderful World of Animation start at the same time/ are they on the same nights? for August 14th 2025.

    Hi Chad!

    Welcome to planDisney!

Fantasmic and Wonderful World of Animation are both great nighttime shows at Hollywood Studios. But you’re right…according to the current showtimes, it looks like they’ll both start at 9 PM on August 14, 2025. With that being said, showtimes are always subject to change, so I’d recheck those times as your trip gets closer to make sure they stay the same.

If you end up needing to choose between the two, let’s chat about the differences between them.

Wonderful World of Animation takes place on the facade of the Chinese Theater (which is home to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway). It’s 12 minutes long and consists mostly of projections of new and classic movies. The show ends with a brief fireworks display. It’s really fun to hear the music from and see so many popular movies in a larger-than-life format!

Fantasmic is the big nighttime spectacular at Hollywood Studios (and is actually one of my all-time favorite shows in Disney World!). It features dozens of performers, pyrotechnics, and a great storyline. I think it's so neat to see the water features turn into movie screens. And of course, the giant dragon always impresses my boys! The show lasts just under 30 minutes.

When choosing between the two, my personal choice would be Fantasmic! But if you’re hoping for an earlier night and easier exit from the park, Wonderful World of Animation might be more up your alley.

It’s good to note that if you decide you want to see Fantasmic, you can get VIP seats to the show by reserving a Fantasmic Dining Package (pending availability). The package allows you to choose from several restaurants at Hollywood Studios. Then, once it’s showtime, you won’t need to worry about getting to the amphitheater too early to snag a spot since you’ll already have one.

I hope that helps! Have the best trip! And let us know if you have any other questions.
