    Our family's taking our first Disney Cruise in April, 3/4 land and sea. Any suggestions for planning for the trip to get maximum enjoyment during both land and sea. Thanks.

    Wow what a great trip you are going to have! 

    I think you are going to be on the land first so lets start there. I would spend a day in EPCOT, one in Magic Kingdom and split Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.  However, the ages of your princesses and pirates could change this schedule.  If they can go for longer stretches, take advantage of the Extra Magic Hour that suits your family.  My family likes to be up earlier so we go to the Extra Magic Hours in the morning not at night.

    For the sea part, the children's programs are so wonderful you may not see your children until you dock.  I do not know if Disney is transporting you to the ship or not, but the earlier you can get to the boat the more time you have to enjoy the fun!  If your children do not want to leave the ship while you go to Nassau, do what we did and leave them in the children's program and enjoy the island. 

    When my family went, we always made sure we had dinner together each night and went to the show.  The Castaway Cay was a hit and they had my favorite meal on the beach-mahi mahi sandwich (can you send me one?).  My husband and daughter say they will never forget the fireworks at night.

    On a side note, please check to see if you need a passport as the rules have changed.
