This is my familys first vacation that we are staying on campus(old key west). What is the first thing that we should do upon arrival. (we will arrive around 11:00 am). Also where do we pick up all of our tickets/information ?

Hi, Robbi!  The first thing I do when I stay at Old Key West is wipe the tears of joy out of my eyes that sprout when the security guard at the gate says, "Welcome Home!"  I love that!

The first thing you want to do, even though you can't "officially" check in until later, is check in at the front desk.  If you have booked everything through Walt Disney World, everything you need will be at check in for you.  They will give you your keys to the World cards, and those will have your passes on them.  You are free to do whatever you would like if your room is not yet ready, so I always have the swimsuits in my bag, just in case we have time to pop into the pool.  They will give you a card with a phone number on it, and you can call the number later in the day to find out what your room number is.  They won't tell you if it's not ready, but the keys will already be assigned to that room, so you won't need to go back to the desk.  You may be lucky and find your room ready, but there is plenty to do to if it isn't.

If you have passes that start your first day there, you can hop on a bus and head into one of the theme parks.  Another thing we like to do - especially if we are not going to want to use a day of passes on only a half day - is head to Downtown Disney.  We'll grab a bite to eat at the Earl of Sandwich, let the kids loose on the Lego playground, browse some of the shops, then head back to the hotel for the evening.
