This is my family's first trip to WDW and we are less than 40 days from departure and we have made NO ADR. What am I to do now? It seems that all the good spots at this point are likely booked. Any suggestions on some good not so busy spots we can try?

    Shana,

I'm so sorry!  I hope that this will work out ok for you.  Don't worry just yet!  There are lots of great restaurants to choose from and I think you will find something.

Generally places that are off the beaten path will be easier to get in to.  Olivia's in the Old Key West resort, for example, or the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs.  You may find availability at The Wave (Contemporary Resort), since it's newer and people aren't fully aware of it just yet.  How about a light lunch at a tea in the Grand Floridian?

For what it's worth, I always make my family's reservations 180 days in advance, and then do tweaks as we get closer to the date.  We are leaving in exactly 3 weeks and I am still re-arranging a few meals, and we added on to our stay so I need to add some meals for those days - and I'm having no problems in doing so.  Take heart!

Don't get discouraged - you WILL find openings!  Just be flexible in your meal times, and ask the cast member for recommendations.  They will stay on the phone with you for as long as it takes, and they do give great advice.

    Good luck!
