My family - wife, daughter 12, son 11, and 82 yo mother will be traveling on the Fantasy 2/16. Are there wheelchairs available on the ship on an as needed basis? She doesn't use one now but I want to have a back up plan just in case.

Welcome aboard, Steve! I checked with Disney Cruise Line about your question, as I wanted to be sure. You'll see that people are in wheelchairs onboard when they need them, and that the ship is very accessible for wheelchairs. Disney told me they do have a few available only for emergency situations, but they are not readily available for someone just to borrow. If your mother thinks she may need one, she should bring her own onboard. If you have the smaller kind that folds flat, you could store it under your bed should you bring it and find that she doesn't need it often.

You're really going to enjoy your multi-generational cruise, Steve. We have traveled with both my parents and my in-laws and our children, and it was such fun to see the fun through both my children's eyes as well as their grandparents' eyes. So magical! This will be a cruise you'll remember forever.

Let me know if I can help you with anything else before you set sail on the Fantasy!
    Have a great cruise!
