Family of 4 going to WDW for 1st time & on a budget w/ 5 & 7 yr old girls. In your expert opinion, better to spring for dining plan & stay @ value resort or stay @ moderate resort w/out dining? Want to save our $ for princess activities :) Th

Hi Angel! How exciting for you and your family to be going on your first Disney vacation! Excellent question! We love the value resorts, and you just can't beat the price, whether you're on the dining plan or not. The pools, theming and food courts are fantastic, and you enjoy all the perks for Disney guests. My daughter's favourite resorts are still All Star Music and Movies! The Dining Plan is exceptional value, especially when dining with children aged nine and under, as the price can't be beat. I recommend taking a look at the restaurants and menus first, and get an idea of where you would like to dine. Click here for the Disney site, which shows all the restaurants and dining experiences, as well as posts many menus. You also might want to check the Allears website, where they list current menus with prices for all Disney dining. Once you have an estimate of what you'll spend on dining, call (407) 939-7675 and the reservationist will advise you of costs for each option.

I think you'll find that if you plan on enjoying a few character dining experiences and some full service dining, you'll find you'll benefit from the DIning Plan.

    Hope this helps Angel!
