My family is going to WDW next month, and we have reservations at Ohana at 4pm. I want to go to Trader Sam's afterward, but I'm a bit worried if I get in the virtual queue before Ohana I'll get called during dinner. Am I worrying too much?

Aloha, and welcome to planDisney, Brittany! We're glad you stopped by for a visit!

Located at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Trader Sam's Grog Grotto is a hidden treasure. And it's almost literally hidden, just down the hall from Capt. Cook's! This immersive bar has made a name for itself, as it's a fan favorite amongst Guests who want to see volcanos erupt as they sip their magical libations. Try ordering their signature drink, the Uh-Oa, and see what happens (just don't tell the Tiki Gods that I sent you)! The lounge is open from 3 pm to midnight daily, welcoming Guests of all ages from opening until 8:00 pm. After that, only Guests 21 years of age or older may visit.

As you're already aware, since Guests cannot make a reservation at the bar, they must get a spot in the Virtual Queue in person when they arrive; just ask the Cast Member for an estimated wait time. You'll get an initial text message confirming your place in the queue, and you'll get another notification when they are ready for you. They will hold your spot for about 15 minutes. If you arrive shortly after that, they may give your seats away, but often they will give you the option to wait in the hallway for new seats to become available. Alternatively, you could also try Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace, located just outside the indoor lounge on the patio. Same drinks, just a different atmosphere. My favorite cocktail is the HippopotoMai-Tai.

All that being said, I don't want you to worry too much. Dinner at 'Ohana is one of the best dining experiences at Walt Disney World Resort (hello noodles!), and I want you to enjoy your meal. Last week, I had dinner there at 4:15 pm, and since the meal is served family-style, it didn't take very long, about an hour from start to finish. The bread pudding is the stuff legends are made of, so don't leave without trying it!

I hope this helps, Brittany! If you need any more advice, remember, "You've got a friend in me!"

    Take care,
