Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    My family wants to stay @ WDW (3 days) following our Oct. cruise on the Dream. Can you recommend a moderate and a deluxe resort that are ideal for kids (8,6)? We won't be visiting parks, so we want to take advantage of fun activities at the resort. THX!

    Hi Christie! How exciting to be planning a Disney cruise, and then a few relaxing days at a Disney resort. Since you're not visiting a theme park, for a moderate resort, I recommend Port Orleans Riverside for your family. There's so much to do there, including:
    - great pools and playgrounds for the kids;
    - fantastic food court as well as a full service restaurant;
    - boat rentals at the marina;
    - bicycle rentals;
    - the Bayou Pirate Adventure, a two-hour cruise for kids only, as they set sail in search of finding pirate treasure;
    - horse-drawn carriage rides;
    - fishing experiences; and
    - campfire and movie nights, and much more.
    Guests of Port Orleans Riverside can also use the facilities of Port Orleans French Quarter and vice versa. You will also enjoy a relaxing ferry ride that takes you to Downtown Disney, where its many shops, activities and restaurants are fun and entertaining.

    For a deluxe resort, I recommend the Beach Club Resort. It truly has the most amazing pool area, where your kids will spend hours on end:
    - Stormalong Bay, the pool area for guests of the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, has a sand bottom, hot tubs, fantastic slide and more;
    - bike rentals, volleyball, ping pong;
    - fishing excursions;
    - nightly campfire and movies;
    - arcade; and
    - children's supervised activity centre and more.
    The location is fabulous, with a short walk from the Boardwalk with its restaurants and nightly entertainment.
