hello, my family and i were wanting to plan a trip to disney next year. we dont know much about it and need help planning

Welcome to planDisney, Talia! I’m excited to know that you are planning to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks for sending me your question! I’m happy to help!

The first thing I do is figure out a few dates that may work for my family. The next thing to do is check the availability calendar to make sure that the theme parks you want to visit are available. This saves heartache later, because you know for sure you will be able to visit and experience what you want to at the theme parks.

I always check for Special Offers before booking my stay. Mickey and his friends offer promotions for almost every season of the year! If you book far in advance, make sure you check back for promotions 3 months before your visit. Many times, you can add an offer to your reservation. Then there's more in your budget for other goodies during your vacation!

Talia, I book my Disney Resort hotel stay next. There are so many awesome places to choose from within the Disney Resorts Collection! You can even choose a resort on the Disney Skyliner route. It's such a fun way to get to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios! Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is a beautiful moderate resort and their main pool is fantastic! Disney’s Riviera Resort is the new kid on the block and it boasts beautiful, spacious rooms and a delicious new place to eat, Topolino’s Terrace- Flavors of the Riviera. I hear their breakfast is amazing!

Once you’ve booked your hotel, you can purchase your tickets at the same time. Go ahead and book your Disney Park Pass Reservations and you will have an excellent start to your planning!

Table service dining reservations and some experiences can be booked 60 days before your magical visit, so keep an eye on the calendar to make sure you get your reservations in.

I hope these tips provide a good start for you. You can always come back to see us for more planning advice to round out your trip. Follow us on Instagram for a look at our adventures at the theme parks. It’s always our pleasure to give you our advice, so you and your family can have a magical visit!
