Hi Peggi,
The
golf courses at Walt Disney World are beautiful and serve as a wonderful break from the fast pace of the theme parks. If you are a golfer, they are a must-do while at Disney World. If your family member will only be golfing one day, I would recommend checking out
Disney's Magnolia Golf Course. It is the longest course and provides a lot of fun challenging greens. This course was also the one used on the PGA tour so that is extra fun for golf fans.
This course is currently undergoing some construction so they are offering a 15% discount off the greens fee rate to make up for that. If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member there is also a
discount offered. I find that by booking your tee time directly through the link provided on the Disney World website or
calling the Golf Master Starter you tend to get the best rate possible and the booking process is super simple. I like to call to book my time because they can help you figure out any rentals you may also need for your outing. You can rent golf clubs, shoes, and a host of other necessities for your golf outing through Disney World so you do not need to worry about packing all your gear for one day of golf.
If your family member will not have a car available to drive directly to the golf course make sure to check with the Valet Desk at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to see if they can provide transportation. Some resorts can do this but availability is not guaranteed. If your resort does not have transportation available, my family has utilized rideshare services in the past and it is super quick!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
