My family will be at Walt Disney World on July 1-6. I have been looking for what is going on for 4th of July and cant find anything. Is there anything special going on? I would like to plan around any festivities. Thank You

    Hi Sharon,

Disney has not yet released the official schedule of events for Independence Day 2014. Typically announcements such as this will only happen about a week in advance. For planning purposes, you can use last year's schedule as a guide. Typically the events match fairly closely year over year.

In 2013, there was a special Celebrate America - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky fireworks at 9:00pm on both July 3 and July 4 at the Magic Kingdom.

In 2013 Epcot added The Heartbeat of Freedom, a 5-minute patriotic fireworks finale, to the Illuminations show, which played at 10:00 on July 4.

In 2013, Disney's Hollywood Studios has fireworks with a rock and roll soundtrack at 10:15 on July 4.

Please remember that July 4 has historically been one of the busiest days of the year. If you'd like to see the fireworks from inside the park, you should plan on arriving fairly early in the morning and staying for the entire day. If you exit the park, there is a small chance that you won't be able to get back in due to crowd control issues.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help.
