Hi there my family and I are going to Walt Disney World in August and I just found out that we can take a boat to Downtown Disney. Is there a boat that takes you any where else on the Walt Disney Property, like one of the parks, or just buses.

    Thanks for writing, Elaine!

Yes, there are several places where you can use a boat for transportation.  In fact, there are so many, I'm going to share all of the options from Disney's transportation FAQ web page (hope you don't mind)...

"Magic Kingdom® Park is accessible by water launch from Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The Disney ferryboats connect Magic Kingdom Park to the Transportation and Ticket Center (adjacent to Magic Kingdom parking).

Epcot® and Disney's Hollywood Studios™ are accessible by boat from Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Villas Resort, Disney's Yacht Club and Disney's Beach Club Resorts and Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotels.

Downtown Disney® is accessible by ferryboat from Disney's Port Orleans Resort, Disney's Old Key West Resort and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort."

In addition, you can rent several types of boats at the Contemporary Resort (and several other resorts at WDW).

If you want other transportation options, Disney also has buses, trains (OK, it's only within the Magic Kingdom), parking lot trams, golf carts (at Fort Wilderness), and taxis. And, of course please don't forget the most unique transportation option at WDW:  the monorail!

If you want even more information about WDW transportation, I recommend you search for "Walt Disney World Transportation Vehicles" at

Hope that help!  Have a great visit, and hope you get to enjoy a variety of WDW's transportation options.
