My family and I will be visiting WDW in June 2009. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge. What are some great spots in the parks or restaurants to view the fireworks shows at the different parks?

    Hi Cindy,

I just love the fireworks at Walt Disney World, Wishes at the Magic Kingdom is my favourite show and my family loves to watch it from the bridge to Tomorrowland. You get a good view of the fireworks and my daughter loves to see Tinker Bell fly overhead. Other great views can be found all the way along Main Street, the Main Street Station offers great views too.

For Illuminations Reflections of Earth in Epcot great views can be found all the way around the World Showcase Lagoon just make sure there are no over hanging trees that can block your view. A few of my favourite views are near Morocco, the bridge between France and UK and if it's not blocked off for reserved viewing the best spot we've ever had is front and centre between Mexico and Canada.

For all the good views it really pays to get there at least 30 minutes before show time, we normally grab a snack and a drink, find a bench and chill whilst we wait!

Disney's Animal Kingdom has no fireworks and Fantasmic at Disney's Hollywood Studios is set in an ampitheatre, the best view tends to be middle centre!

As for restaurants with good views, for Wishes you could book a reservation at California Grill at the Contemporary Resort, if you time it right it offers fantastic views. You could also dine at either the Polynesian or Grand Floridian and once you've eaten watch Wishes from the beach. In Epcot a great view can be had from the Rose & Crown in the UK, ask when you check in for a patio table or you could eat at Cantina de San Angel a quick service restaurant in Mexico, this is a very popular spot though and you would probably need to arrive 90 minutes before show time to secure a table.

Have a great trip and enjoy the fabulous fireworks,

    Jo
