    My family and I are visiting Walt Disney World Jan. 19th - Jan. 26th. Could you please tell me the exact date that Space Mountain will be shut down for refurbishment? It's our Favorite!! Here's hoping it's open... Thanks in advance!

    Unfortunately we do not have any information regarding ride closures until they are announced on the Disney calendar. I can tell you that Space Mountain is thought to be closing on or around April 19, 2009 for refurbishment. From all the information I have seen, it is expected that once the ride is closed, it will take most of 2009 to complete the project. All refurbishments and schedules are always subject to change and the best place to check for ride closures is www.waltdisneyworld.com and look under each park's individual calendar of park hours and events. At the bottom of the calendar page is a current listing of rides that are not operating.

    I think you should be just fine for your trip, but if you return later this year you may find it temporarily closed, so make sure to get an extra ride or two in this time.
