My family and I are visiting Nov 18-22. My dd's bff has decided to come with us, but my adr at BOG is for 4 people. I have called to try and add an extra person, but have not been successful. What should I do? Thanks

Hi, Floyd!  My grandfather was a wise old man, and one of the sayings he was known for was, "It's sometimes better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission."  What that basically meant was if you knew you were going to be told no when you asked for permission, go ahead and do what you wanted to do anyway, and ask for forgiveness when it was done.  Not that I know from personal experience, but this does not work when it comes to borrowing your mother's car when you are 17.

It might, however, work for dining reservations.

The worst thing that can happen is that you arrive for your reservation time and let them know at the podium that you have an extra guest with you, and they tell you there is no way they can accommodate that guest.  However, in many cases, they will do their best to get you in with your adjusted party size.  This is a little easier to do if you're only adding one person, so I don't generally recommend showing up with the LSU football team to add to a party of two, but I've been very successful adding just one other person to our existing advanced dining reservations.

If they can't accommodate you, you will have to find alternative dining arrangements, but you would have had to do that anyway if a reservation in your party size is not available.  What I would do just to give yourself peace of mind is to continue to try online to see if a reservation becomes available for a party of your size at Be Our Guest before you travel.  It happens all the time.

    Have fun!
