My family and I will be visiting MK in July...we are concerned that it is geared towrds smaller children. Will our 13 year old be able to enjoy himself as well. He loves thrill rides and most of the rides appear to be geared towrds smaller children at MK

Hi, Linda!  I will say, if your 13 year old is more accustomed to wild roller coasters that twist you and turn you and spin  you until you are sick on your shoes, you won't find anything like that at the Magic Kingdom.  I like to think of many of the rides at the Magic Kingdom as more of experiences.  He might really enjoy Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which is a fast, roller coaster type ride; and I would recommend Splash Mountain, but you go through the wonderful story of Br'er Rabbit before you ever hit the big drop into the Briar Patch.

My 14 year old nephew enjoys most of the Magic Kingdom.  He ride the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, and he gets a kick out of beating his dad's score on Buzz Lightyear.  He also is at the age where he gets all of the puns on the Jungle Cruise, and while the ride itself may not be be that exciting for him, he may enjoy the experience.

Mickey's PhilHarMagic is a great 3D experience he might enjoy, and even the new Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! street party has music he'll recognize and probably like.

I know that my daughters and my nephews have all loved the Magic Kingdom growing up.  I've never had any of them complain about there not being enough thrill rides, and it's a must do on each of our Walt Disney World vacations.  I hope your 13 year old loves it as much as my family does!
