My family will be visiting the last week of September and would like to go to one of the water parks. My boys are 9 and 10. We've heard great things about both, but are unsure which would be best for us.

    Catherine,

It is not that the two water parks don't have differences. They do. But either would really be great. But if I were in your shoes, with two presumably active boys, I would opt for Blizzard Beach. I think they have a greater array of 'thrill ride' water slides, with some for many different age brackets. I think that they will like many of the side-by-side slides, like the Toboggan Racers, where they can race each other.

But 9 and 10 year old boys aren't competitive, are they?

The Ski Patrol Training Camp, which is more for kids, will also be fun for them.

Another perk to the park, in my personal estimation, is the Chairlift, which means more riding to the top of the rides, less climbing stairs. I know, I am lazy. So be it!

Final point. Let's say that you want a break from the water. Or you are just done for the day, but longing for something else to do. Well Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course shares the parking lot with Blizzard Beach. It is located right outside the water park entry. So you could do a bit of that too!

BOTTOM LINE: Blizzard Beach is my choice for your family.

Write me back if you have any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
