Some of my family will be visiting Disneyworld and staying at a resort hotel. One member will only be coming for 1 day in a park. He has a park reservation, a ticket, & a ticket linked magic band. Does he need a finger scan at Guest Services first?

Welcome to planDisney, Mary Lou! I’m so happy to see that you have a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort in the works! Thanks for sending me your planning question.

It sounds like you have all your ducks in a row. Donald will be so proud! The fingerprint scan officially links guests to their theme park ticket. Your family member will need to scan their finger at the entrance of the theme park, so they can use it again later, if they decide to leave the theme park and return later in the day. If your family member has added the park hopper option to that one-day ticket, a fingerprint will also be needed to enter the next theme park they will be “hopping” to, any time after 2 p.m.

Mary Lou, there’s so much to explore right now during “The World’s Most Magical Celebration!” I really love seeing the Fab 50 Character Collection at the theme parks. I found Tinkerbell at the Magic Kingdom Park across from Cinderella Castle! Her gold statue is beautiful! I also really loved Disney Enchantment, the new firework show at Magic Kingdom Park. I watched from MainStreet U.S.A. and I was so pleasantly surprised at how it lit up the street and the night sky! Your family is going to love it!

Thanks again for sending me your planning question. Don’t hesitate to come back to visit if you have any other questions. It’s always our pleasure to help you with all the details of your next magical vacation!
