Our family is visiting Disney World for the 1st time June 1-8. We want to take advantage of the last day at the park. Can we leave our car at the hotel even if we are checked out? Also can we park at the resort before we register?

When you register at your hotel, your welcome packet will include a parking pass that will allow you to park for free at the resorts and theme parks during your stay. Just leave the pass on your dashboard and you'll be welcome to park at your resort or the theme parks until midnight on the day of your checkout.

As to your second question, if you're at your resort, you should simply go into the lobby and register so that you can get your parking pass. You can register at any time on the day of your check-in, even very early in the morning.  You'll be given your Key to the World card, your parking pass, and any theme park or dining plan credits you have purchased. If your room is not yet ready, you'll be given a phone number to call later that will tell you when your room is available. Then you can go explore your resort or begin your park touring.
