    My family will be visiting Disney World in May. My son has a peanut allergy. We are on the DDP. Could give me any information on food/snack items that are peanut/tree nut free. We have to avoid items processed with nuts as well as containing nuts.

    Hi, Mary!  I have always found that Walt Disney World is really one of the very best places to be when dealing with food allergies.  While I can't give you specific snacks, because they can change without notice, you will always find something individually wrapped and peanut/tree nut free.  In the past, I've seen brownies, cookies, frozen treats, and more.  The items are clearly marked, but you can ask the Cast Members as well to guide you to the safe snacks.

    For any dining reservations you make, have them note it on your reservation (or note it yourself if you book online) that you have an allergy.  A member of the culinary team will discuss menu items that will be safe not only for your little guy, but for the table as well.  This is often the chef, and if necessary, they can make something that you can feel confident is prepared with the utmost caution.

    At counter service locations, the Cast Members are pretty well familiar with the menu, and they can guide you towards safe options.  Nothing at Walt Disney World is fried using peanut oil, so you may find foods you can't order from local restaurants at home are safer at Walt Disney World.
