My family and I will be visiting Disney for the 1st time 5/17-24/09, we will be staying at POFQ.Where are the rides appropriate for a 5 yr old to ride, and the Sat. of Mem. Weekend would it be a good idea to go to Animal King to avoid crowds?

Hi April.  Congratulations on your first trip to WDW, what a special time.  There are so many rides your 5 year old will be able to take part on!  I too have a 5 year old and she keeps us going on everything!  At the MK you'll find Dumbo, Peter Pan, It's A Small World, Pooh's Adventure, the teacups, Pirates of the Caribbean - and wow, that is just MK.  There are also plenty of things for a 5 year old to do at Epcot, AK and DHS!  I think you are going to be surprised how much there actually is for little ones.  As far as crowds at parks, that is just a tough one to call.  I can tell you, typically the MK is more crowded on Mondays.  The parks that have EMH are also typically more crowded on those particular days, but honestly there is no magic method to figuring out the crowds.  If you have purchased hopper passes, then take full advantage of them.  If MK is too crowded leave and head on over to AK, it's as easy as hopping on the bus to your next destination.  I truly hope this helps and enjoy your first trip to WDW!
