Hello. My family and I will be visiting Disney in July 11th to July 24th. I was wandering if this will be peak season? We will be staying off property so I am cutting some costs there. Do you have any other money saving tips? We are driving from Missouri.

    Hi Jennifer,

Yes you will be at the height of peak season for vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort. With most of the schools out on summer vacation, Disney will be in full swing to provide you will maximum entertainment. The parks will be opening early and closing later. I need a nap just thinking about it.

Since you will not be staying on property, I would avoid the parks who have Extra Magic Hours (EMH) since guests staying on property will be taking advantage of this perk.

Also, since you are driving daily to the parks, I might not purchase the park hopper option. This way you can save time by not driving your car to the next park. You simply spend the time in one park for the day.

You can eat breakfast in your room and bring snacks and drinks with you to the park.

For souvenirs, set a budget with your children so that they are not purchasing everything they see. They have to spend only what they have and it teaches budgeting as well. You can even give them Disney Dollars or a gift card for them to use.
