my Family will be visiting Disney in April 2008 we have used the dining plan before and LOVED it. My question is with the new 2008 dining plans is it better to use the deluxe dining plan cost wise or do you think that is too much food ?

    Hi Penni,

This is really about knowing your family.  If you thought you had enough food and flexibility with the Basic Dining Plan, than I would not upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan.  I know for my family the Deluxe Dining Plan would be too much food and too much time eating.

If however you found your family needing more options, then the Deluxe Dining Plan is the way to go.

One of the planning tools I use when I am trying to decide to purchase the Dining Plan is to look at the menus of the restaurants I will be eating at during my trip.  If you have more expensive choices planned or dinner shows, you might consider the Deluxe because you would need two table service meals to "pay" for your meal.  Allearsnet.com has a nice listing of menus with prices so you can get an idea.

Also, if you have big eaters such as teenagers, this might be a way to fix your costs.

I hope this helps and have a great trip in April!
