Hey there, Merlit! Welcome to planDisney.
How magical is it to ring in the New Year at Magic Kingdom Park?! I still haven’t checked this experience off my own wishlist, but I will live vicariously through you. I do, however, have some answers to your questions. Here we gooooo!
Because the theme parks, especially
Magic Kingdom Park, often reach capacity on the final day of each year, you’ll want to get there as early as possible. I recommend arriving before noon. Spend the twelve hours before the big countdown and
fireworks by experiencing a few attractions (there are many rides without
height requirements for your little one to enjoy, too) and watching parades and other shows across the theme park. If you need some down time, take a break at one of the several quick-service restaurants or visit the
Baby Care Center at the front of the theme park.
Also, please be sure that you already have a theme park reservation for your visit. Currently, according to the
theme park availability calendar, Magic Kingdom Park is not available. If you purchased a date-based ticket specifically for Magic Kingdom Park through the Walt Disney World Resort website, you should be fine. But double check that you have a park reservation via the
My Disney Experience App or online by viewing your park reservations.
AN EXTRA GEM: I have great news! Your little one under the age of 3 does not need a theme park ticket or theme park reservation. They are f-r-e-e, and this is why I brought my own Mouseketeers to the theme parks before they could even walk. I recommend watching your kiddo’s eyes light up when they view the fireworks. Savor every magical moment!
Merlit,
drop by with more questions if you need any help with the remainder of your Disney vacation planning. 3…2…1…planDisney wishes you a Happy New Year!
Magic always,
LeAndra
